KANTURK COMMUNITY ASTROTURF COMPANY LIMITED BY GUARANTEE

Kanturk Community Astroturf Company Limited by Guarantee is a community-driven organisation dedicated to delivering an all-weather astroturf pitch for Kanturk and the wider North Cork region. Established in early 2019, the company brings together local sports clubs, schools and community groups to create a shared, high-quality facility that will serve football, Gaelic games and other outdoor activities throughout the year.

The group's work centres on fundraising, project management and stakeholder engagement. Through a series of public draws - including a recent Toyota CHR raffle - and generous support from local businesses such as Aspel's Spar, the committee has raised the capital required to commence construction. Groundworks have already begun, with local firms Fitzpatricks and Ducon handling site preparation and infrastructure, while a grant from Duhallow IRD underpins the financial framework.

By involving pupils from the four local schools in the sod-turning ceremony and maintaining close ties with clubs and organisations, Kanturk Community Astroturf Company ensures the pitch will be a truly community-owned asset, enhancing sport, health and social cohesion across North Cork.
