Small Technology Foundation is a tiny, independent two‑person not‑for‑profit based in Ireland that is dedicated to building the “Small Web” – a public digital space made up of places that individuals own and control. Their work centres on research and development, creating open‑source tools and standards that prioritise human welfare over corporate profit, and on advocacy, awareness‑raising and education to promote a non‑colonial, privacy‑by‑default internet.
The foundation’s portfolio includes a suite of lightweight, interoperable technologies such as Kitten, Domain and Place, as well as specialised libraries like the JavaScript Database (JSDB) and a drop‑in HTTPS module for Node.js.
