Company Description
The College of Psychiatrists of Ireland is the national professional body for psychiatrists, dedicated to promoting excellence in the practice of psychiatry across the island. With a membership of more than 1,300 doctors from over 50 countries, the College represents a broad spectrum of psychiatric specialities and works to reduce the stigma surrounding mental illness through public awareness and advocacy.
Key services include accredited postgraduate training programmes, specialist and higher-level training, and a robust Continuing Professional Development system that enables members to record lifelong learning and maintain professional competence. The College also provides a vibrant calendar of events-conferences, webinars and special interest group meetings-covering topics from perinatal and youth psychiatry to addiction, autism and global mental health. Its Communications & Policy team liaises with government, health organisations and the media to shape mental-health policy and keep the public informed.
Through education, advocacy and support for both trainees and established consultants, the College of Psychiatrists of Ireland plays a central role in shaping a person-centred, fit-for-purpose mental-health service for the most vulnerable members of society.
