EAST WICKLOW RIVERS TRUST COMPANY LIMITED BY GUARANTEE

East Wicklow Rivers Trust is a community-led charitable organisation that was established in 2019 to protect, conserve and improve the surface-water bodies of County Wicklow. Covering more than 1 300 km² from Bray to Arklow, the Trust's remit includes the Vartry, Avoca and Dargle rivers together with the myriad streams, lakes and wetlands that flow into the Irish Sea.

The Trust delivers a blend of education, water-management advice and hands-on conservation work. Key projects such as the restoration of the Ballinglen River fisheries habitat, the "Harbour to Headwaters" initiative and upland gully woodland restoration illustrate its focus on restoring natural river functions and enhancing climate resilience. Through regular events - from tree-planting days and bat walks to workshops on dam removal and river ecology - the Trust engages volunteers, landowners and the wider public in safeguarding Wicklow's waterways.
