Galway Hooker Sailing Club is a community-driven organisation dedicated to preserving, restoring and sailing the iconic Galway Hooker - a wooden vessel that has been a symbol of the west of Ireland since the late 1800s. Founded in 2019, the club sprang from the successful restoration of Lovely Anne, an 1885 Hooker, and has since expanded its fleet with further historic boats such as Loveen.

The club offers a range of hands-on experiences, from guided workshop tours and restoration projects to sailing lessons and educational programmes. Its calendar is packed with events that celebrate maritime heritage, including the annual Docklands Festival, the An Tóstal celebration in Salthill, and bespoke corporate team-building outings. Members and visitors alike can join the crew, learn traditional boat-building skills, or simply enjoy a sail on the beautiful Galway Bay.
