Company Description

Empower the Family CLG is a charitable organisation dedicated to breaking the cycle of disadvantage for young people aged 18-23, with a particular focus on single parents and care-leavers who are pursuing higher education. By providing purpose-built student accommodation that includes an on-site creche, the charity removes two of the biggest barriers to university success - affordable housing and reliable childcare.

Backed by philanthropic funding of more than €500 000 and recognised by the Irish Council for Social Housing and Dublin City Council, Empower the Family has secured Approved Housing Body status, enabling access to the Capital Assistance Scheme to fund its development. The first phase will deliver 20 family-friendly apartments for single-parent students and 14 units for former state-care young adults, creating a collaborative, sustainable community on a site in Ballymun slated for completion by September 2025.

The organisation's leadership team combines expertise in finance, property development, social housing and health-social care, and its impact has already been acknowledged through awards such as Forbes 30 Under 30 (Social Entrepreneurs) and the Chartered Accountants Ireland Inspiration Award. Empower the Family's mission is clear: equip determined young people with the education and support they need to prosper, and in doing so, transform the futures of their children and wider communities.
