BELTURBET HERITAGE RAILWAY COMPANY LIMITED BY GUARANTEE

Belturbet Heritage Railway Company Limited By Guarantee is a community-driven organisation dedicated to preserving and celebrating the rich railway history of Belturbet and its surrounding region. The volunteer-run heritage railway operates both broad-gauge (5 ft 3 in) and narrow-gauge (3 ft) rolling stock, recreating the historic links that once connected the Great Northern Railway (Ireland) to Ballyhaise and the Midland Great Western Railway line from Dublin to Sligo.

The company maintains a fully-fledged railway museum within the original Belturbet station, offering visitors a collection of artefacts, informative leaflets and CD programmes that explore the line's development from its early days through its 1920 extension to Arigna. In addition to static displays, Belturbet Heritage Railway organises regular events and fundraising campaigns aimed at restoring a working train on authentic track, inviting the public to experience a living piece of Irish transport heritage.

Volunteers are at the heart of the operation, with a clear structure for those who wish to join the various departments that keep the railway and museum thriving.
