Company Description
The Irish District Energy Association (IrDEA) is Ireland's sole membership organisation dedicated to championing the development of district heating and cooling networks across the country. Established in 2017, IrDEA works to remove the technical, regulatory and financial barriers that currently limit the rollout of low-carbon, renewable-energy-based district energy systems, positioning them as a cornerstone of a smarter, more sustainable Irish energy landscape.
IrDEA brings together a diverse membership from the public, private and academic sectors, offering a platform for knowledge-sharing, policy advocacy and collaborative projects. Through its news service, policy briefings, events, EU LIFE project involvement and the Heat Atlas data tool, the association provides members with the latest research, best-practice guidance and networking opportunities to accelerate the uptake of district heating and cooling solutions-from geothermal and biomass to industrial waste heat and solar thermal.
Based in Dublin, IrDEA serves stakeholders nationwide, helping them harness the flexibility of district energy to deliver affordable, low-carbon heating and cooling for communities and businesses alike.
