Company Description
Spectrum Research Centre (SRC) is a not‑for‑profit company limited by guarantee, founded in 2017 to help young academics translate their research into real‑world impact. Drawing on a multidisciplinary team of 22 scholars with extensive European experience, SRC designs and validates research‑based interventions that address the unique challenges of rural Irish communities.
The centre’s specialisations span educational innovation, social policy, e‑learning, gamification, entrepreneurship, anthropology, social psychology, gerontology and early‑childhood learning. Its core services include developing support programmes for rural micro‑enterprises and SMEs—particularly in technology, cultural, creative, agri‑food and tourism sectors—talent‑development solutions for HR managers, and initiatives that empower women in STEAM. SRC also creates training resources for teachers, VET providers and community educators, and facilitates whole‑school programmes that engage parents on issues such as cyberbullying, nutrition, climate anxiety and mental health.
In addition to its research agenda, SRC contributes to European‑funded projects under the Lifelong Learning and Erasmus+ programmes, notably the EMPOWER project, which builds resilience to prevent domestic violence. Through policy briefs and collaborative projects, SRC strives to shape evidence‑based policy and foster social innovation across Ireland and Europe.
