Prescription Revision Ltd – GP Exam Simulator

Prescription Revision Ltd operates the GP Exam Simulator, an online platform dedicated to helping General Practice trainees prepare for the Membership of the Irish College of General Practitioners (MICGP) Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) and the Clinical Knowledge Test (CKT). The service offers a realistic, timed mock patient consultation conducted via Zoom, where trainees interact with a fully coached actor playing the role of a patient. Each 17‑minute session, priced at €249, includes a video recording of the consultation, a detailed marking scheme, key learning points and the information provided to the actor.

The simulator is designed to improve consultation structure, time management, communication skills and exam technique, while highlighting common pitfalls and the terminology examiners expect. Founded in 2024 by Dr Paul Ryan—a practising GP in Mayfield, Cork City and co‑founder of the Prescription Revision and GP Exam Prep sites—the platform builds on a track record of supporting hundreds of trainees to successfully pass their MICGP examinations.

Target users are GP trainees and junior doctors seeking focused, evidence‑based preparation for the MICGP CCT and CKT.
