Swoboda Research Centre is a dedicated research organisation that serves Irish, British and European credit unions and their wider stakeholder community. Its core purpose is to drive positive change and transformation within the credit‑union movement by delivering action‑orientated, sector‑leading research, insightful events and thought‑provoking podcasts.

The centre’s key offerings include in‑depth research reports, specialist conferences such as the recent “Leading Innovation” event held at Liverpool’s Royal Liver Building, and the i4 Incubator programme – a collaborative platform that brings together credit unions and solution providers to test and scale responsible innovation. In addition, Swoboda produces a regular “Talking Credit Unions” podcast series, exploring emerging themes from its conferences and the broader sector.

Operating in partnership with the Research Unit for Financial Inclusion at Liverpool John Moores University, Swoboda combines academic rigour with practical expertise, underpinned by values of co‑operation, professionalism and independence. Its work is aimed squarely at credit‑union leaders, policymakers and anyone invested in a more inclusive financial future.
