National String Quartet Foundation Company Limited By Guarantee is a not-for-profit organisation dedicated to bringing live chamber music to audiences throughout Ireland. By organising touring programmes, seasonal festivals and bespoke concert series, the Foundation ensures that world-class string quartets and quintets perform in towns and cities from Listowel and Tullamore to Cork, Castlepollard and Dublin.

The Foundation's core activities include the annual spring season - 32 concerts in 22 venues - and a vibrant touring calendar featuring ensembles such as the Calathea Quartet and Vanbrugh & Friends. It also curates the Irish Quartet Archive, now holding 55 recordings of Irish-composed quartet music, and the Vanbrugh Quartet CD Archive, a comprehensive listing of 34 historic releases available for streaming and purchase. In addition, the organisation runs a mailing list to keep music lovers informed of upcoming performances.

Supported by the Arts Council, RTE Lyric FM, University College Cork, Cork City and County Councils and the National Concert Hall, the Foundation serves a wide community of classical music enthusiasts across the Republic, fostering a thriving chamber-music scene and nurturing Irish composers and performers alike.
