Company Description
The Irish Society for Autism, founded in 1963, is the longest-established dedicated organisation supporting people with autism and their families across Ireland. As a national charity, it works to raise awareness, provide information and champion the rights of autistic individuals through research, advocacy and community-focused initiatives.
Key offerings include a range of autism-specific resources such as the Autism Alert Card, Face Mask Card and Information Card, all designed to help families and professionals communicate needs effectively. The Society also runs a seasonal Christmas shop featuring cards, decorations and teddy bears, and organises fundraising opportunities for donors and corporate partners. Its research portfolio is extensive, with recent studies exploring caregiver experiences, healthcare service competencies and the impact of environmental factors on mental health. In addition, the Society promotes events like World Autism Day and supports inclusive activities such as the Irish Disability Snooker Open.
Through education, research and community engagement, the Irish Society for Autism strives to improve the quality of life for autistic people and to foster a more inclusive society throughout the island.
