Company Description
Bord Iascaigh Mhara (BIA MARA AN ATLANTAIGH FHIÁIN TEORANTA) is the national body that champions the Irish seafood sector. By offering technical expertise, business support, grant funding, accredited training and guidance on sustainability, the Board helps fisheries, aquaculture enterprises and seafood processors thrive while safeguarding the marine environment.
Its suite of services is deliberately comprehensive: grant‑aid programmes are available across all seafood subsectors; a range of accredited training courses equips staff with the latest skills; advisory teams deliver bespoke technical and commercial advice; and sustainability and certification support enables companies to meet the highest standards of environmental management, food safety and quality. In addition, BIM collaborates on industry‑led projects that drive innovation, from the Aquaculture Remote Classroom to the Greencastle Sea Survival Pool, and provides up‑to‑date insights and news that keep the community informed.
Through these initiatives, BIM not only nurtures the “seafood way of life” that is integral to Ireland’s coastal heritage, but also ensures that the industry remains competitive, resilient and future‑proof for the generations to come.
