The Irish Natura & Hill Farmers Association (INHFA) is a nationwide, member-led organisation that champions the interests of farmers working on hill, high-nature-value and other environmentally designated land. Established in 2015, INHFA works to ensure the viability of family farms while highlighting the vital contribution these farms make to biodiversity, ecosystem services and animal welfare.

Through a combination of grassroots lobbying and representation at both national and European levels, INHFA has successfully campaigned on a range of issues that directly benefit its members and rural communities across Ireland. The association also provides confidential, one-to-one advice and guidance to individual farmers, helping them navigate planning permissions, scheme changes and other regulatory challenges. Membership offers a strong, recognised voice in policy discussions, direct access to decision-makers and practical support on day-to-day farming matters.

By giving small and marginalised farmers a seat at the table, INHFA empowers its members to influence legislation such as the EU Nature Restoration Law and to secure fair treatment under planning and agricultural policies.
