Company Description
Renewable Gas Forum Ireland (RGFI) is an industry‑led, not‑for‑profit organisation dedicated to building a large‑scale, indigenous renewable‑gas sector in Ireland. By bringing together producers, consumers, farmers, dairy processors and other stakeholders, the Forum drives the decarbonisation of Ireland’s industrial heat demand, with a clear ambition to supply at least 12 % of the nation’s current gas consumption with renewable gas and to deliver 5.7 TWh of biomethane by 2030.
RGFI’s work spans advocacy, strategic initiatives and knowledge‑transfer programmes for its members. It offers a robust Irish Green Gas Certification Scheme that aligns biomethane production with RED II standards, ensuring full life‑cycle assessment and consumer confidence. The Forum also organises high‑profile events such as the Biomethane Conference in Croke Park, publishes industry perspectives, and provides regular updates on policy, best practice and emerging technologies. Open to both producers and consumers, RGFI serves as the central hub for anyone seeking to participate in Ireland’s transition to sustainable, locally produced gas.
