Company Description
River Moy Search and Rescue Ballina is a volunteer-run, non-profit organisation dedicated to keeping the River Moy safe for the community of Ballina, Co. Mayo. Founded in May 2011, the group now operates from the Old Quay School and brings together committed volunteers who carry out search, recovery and rescue missions for anyone who may become lost in the river's waters.
The organisation's primary focus is swift, professional search and recovery work on the River Moy, while a secondary aim is to tackle marine litter and enhance the local marine environment. In addition, River Moy Search and Rescue promotes the skills it uses-particularly diving and kayaking-as recreational sports, with most diving activities taking place in nearby Kilcummin. All members regularly train together, fostering both safety expertise and community spirit.
Registered as a charitable body under the Charity Regulator (numbers CHY 19910 and 20078478), River Moy Search and Rescue Ballina offers a vital, community-focused service that blends emergency response with environmental stewardship.
