THE SHEKINAH PROGRAMME

The Shekinah Programme is an Irish training organisation dedicated to equipping adults for youth ministry and retreat facilitation. It delivers a Level 7 Diploma in Applied Youth Ministry, accredited by St Patrick's Pontifical University Maynooth, and combines scriptural, theological, psychological and interactive training with a pastoral placement in the participant's local community.

Key components of the programme include in-class study from September to April, small-group peer learning, and a hands-on placement assessed through retreats or other approved ministries. Graduates gain official certification, practical skills in drama, music, film, art and small-group dynamics, and the confidence to lead youth teams, school support programmes and parish initiatives.

The Shekinah ethos, rooted in the biblical concept of "the light of God's presence" and inspired by the pedagogy of St John Bosco, welcomes anyone with a passion for youth work, offering a supportive environment for personal and professional growth.
