Company Description
The Irish International Freight Association (IIFA) is the longest-serving representative body and official voice of the freight-forwarding sector in Ireland. Founded in 1962, the association brings together 120 member companies - from long-standing Irish family firms to leading multinationals - that collectively employ more than 3,000 people and handle over 90 % of the country's €148 billion international merchandise trade.
IIFA's core activities centre on advocacy, industry intelligence and professional development. It monitors regulatory changes, such as the European Commission's updates to the Import Control System 2 and new customs duties, and lobbies on behalf of members on issues ranging from port charges to vehicle circularity. The association also delivers a suite of training programmes, including the FIATA Diploma in Freight Forwarding, online customs-clearance courses and introductory modules for newcomers to the trade.
Based in Dublin, IIFA serves the entire Irish logistics community, providing a platform for collaboration, knowledge-sharing and the promotion of best practice across the freight-forwarding industry.
