Company Description
Dublin Waste to Energy (DWTE) is a public‑private partnership dedicated to the sustainable treatment of waste that cannot be reused or recycled, turning it into essential energy for the capital. Operated by Encyclis, a recognised leader in waste‑to‑energy solutions, the plant is jointly owned by Dublin City Council – acting on behalf of the four Dublin local authorities – and three private partners: Encyclis, DIF Capital Partners and MEAG.
The core service of DWTE is the conversion of residual waste into reliable electricity and heat, while simultaneously recovering valuable resources for the circular economy. By integrating advanced treatment technologies, the facility not only reduces landfill dependence but also supplies clean power to homes and businesses across Dublin. In addition to its technical expertise, DWTE runs a vibrant community programme, offering open‑house tours, a grant scheme for local projects and regular newsletters that keep residents informed about progress and sustainability milestones.
Based in Dublin, the group works closely with local authorities, industry partners and the wider public to deliver a greener, more resilient energy future for the city and its surrounding communities.
