Ó Cualann Cohousing Alliance Company Limited By Guarantee is a not-for-profit Approved Housing Body with charitable status that has devised a scalable model for truly affordable, sustainable homes. Its mission is to create mixed-income, fully integrated co-operative communities where houses are affordable both to purchase and to run, and where each development meets a minimum A2 energy rating.

The organisation works hand-in-hand with local authorities, state agencies, other Approved Housing Bodies and community-led housing groups to deliver permanently affordable homes across Ireland. By combining mixed-tenure design, sustainability partnerships and a replicable three-strand model, Ó Cualann is able to launch an extensive pipeline of developments over the next three years, already providing hundreds of families with thoughtfully designed, low-cost homes.

Backed by a skilled management team and a board of volunteer directors, Ó Cualann's collaborative approach-bolstered by partners such as PTSB-ensures that each new community is both socially just and environmentally responsible, offering a realistic solution to the nation's housing crisis.
