UPLIFT -A PEOPLE POWERED COMMUNITY

Uplift - A People-Powered Community is a self-supporting, independent organisation that brings together more than 360 000 Irish citizens to campaign for progressive change. Through an online platform members can start or sign petitions, fund research and launch digital campaigns that influence decision-makers at local and national level. In 2025 the community generated over 400 000 online actions, sent 142 000 messages to policymakers, submitted 5 200 formal proposals to government and raised €1.6 million in member donations (average €14 each).

Uplift's work centres on four pillars: a thriving environment, transparent democracy, equality and social-economic justice. Campaigns have secured greater refuge for asylum seekers, protected public access to natural spaces and challenged vulture funds threatening homes. Members also fund research - for example, an independent study of the proposed Shannon LNG terminal - and push for reforms such as the removal of harmful recommender algorithms used by big-tech platforms.

Serving people from every corner of Ireland, Uplift provides a simple, digital way for citizens to turn concern into collective action, ensuring that ordinary voices are heard where it matters most.
