East Galway & Midlands Cancer Support (EGM Cancer Support) is a non-profit charitable organisation founded in 2012 that offers a warm, safe haven for people affected by cancer and their families. Through a full-time drop-in centre and a 24-hour phone line, the charity delivers free, holistic support that spans practical assistance, emotional care and complementary therapies, all underpinned by volunteers who have lived experience of the disease.

The service portfolio is extensive: professional counselling, fitness and gardening sessions, relaxation and mindfulness programmes, support groups, transport and meal provision, as well as a monthly post-mastectomy care clinic. Therapists provide a range of complementary treatments, contributing to over 1,300 hours of therapy and nearly 900 complimentary sessions each year. In 2024 the centre answered 1,727 calls, helped 342 clients with transport, and welcomed more than 200 attendees each week, all at no charge.

A proud member of the European Cancer Patient Coalition, EGM Cancer Support not only offers direct aid but also gives its clients a collective voice in European health policy, ensuring that the needs of cancer patients across the east Galway and Midlands region are heard and addressed.
