Company Description
The Central Applications Office (CAO) is the national hub that processes applications for undergraduate courses across Ireland's higher-education institutions. Acting on behalf of universities, institutes of technology and other HEIs, the CAO collects candidates' preferences, forwards them to the institutions and then communicates the offers made by each college.
Key services include an online application portal where students can submit their choices, upload supporting documents and track progress through a personalised "My Application" dashboard. Early birds benefit from a reduced application fee of €35 when they apply before 20 January, with the final deadline on 1 February at 17:00. The CAO also provides a comprehensive handbook, FAQs and guidance for applicants, parents, guardians, schools and access-route programmes such as DARE, HEAR, further education and apprenticeships.
By streamlining the admissions process and offering clear, user-friendly tools, the CAO helps thousands of prospective students navigate their entry into higher education with confidence and ease.
