Engineers Without Borders Ireland (EWB-Ireland) is a charitable organisation that connects academia, industry and NGOs to give Irish engineers, scientists and like-minded volunteers real-world experience in sustainable development. By partnering with disadvantaged communities both at home and abroad, EWB-Ireland designs and delivers education-focused engineering projects that improve quality of life while aligning with the United Nations' 17 Sustainable Development Goals.

The charity runs a suite of programmes that showcase its multidisciplinary approach, including the annual EWB SDG Day, the Innovation Academy for emerging technologists, and the WTINE initiative that fosters international collaboration. Its flagship "Where There Is No Engineer" competition offers students and professionals the chance to develop cross-cultural, sustainable solutions, with national finals and overseas field trips such as the recent project in India. EWB-Ireland also welcomes corporate partners and individual volunteers - engineers or not - who are keen to explore how technology can drive humanitarian change. Through these activities, the organisation builds a vibrant network of innovators dedicated to engineering a fairer, more sustainable world.
