Gaelic Players Holding Company Company Limited By Guarantee (the GPA) is the representative body for Ireland's high-performance inter-county athletes. Established by players in 1999 and strengthened by a 2020 merger with the Women's Gaelic Players Association, the GPA now advocates for more than 4,000 current male and female inter-county players, as well as a growing community of former athletes, across its four core pillars: player representation, welfare, development and equality.

The organisation offers a comprehensive Counselling Support Service, available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, providing face-to-face and telephone assistance for issues such as anxiety, depression, bereavement, relationship and family matters, and addiction treatment. A benevolent fund is also in place to help members facing severe financial hardship. Through its Digital Support Hub, players can access a wealth of mental-health resources and build personal wellbeing strategies at any time.

In addition, the GPA collaborates with academic institutions to deliver scholarships for its members and works with commercial partners to enhance the overall player experience. By placing people before sport, the GPA ensures that Ireland's elite Gaelic athletes receive the support they need to thrive both on and off the field.
