The Irish Martial Arts Commission (IMAC) is the recognised national governing body for martial arts in Ireland, operating under the auspices of Sport Ireland. With a network of more than 400 clubs, IMAC supports a diverse range of disciplines-including Aikido, Iaido, Wing Tsun, Lau Gar, Tang Soo Do, Muay Thai, Sambo and many others-providing a unified voice for both competitive and non-competitive practitioners.

IMAC delivers a suite of specialist programmes for instructors, coaches and athletes, covering Safeguarding, Inclusion and other key areas that underpin safe and progressive training environments. All IMAC coaches are garda-vetted, first-aid trained and have completed the commission's dedicated coach-education pathway, ensuring a high standard of expertise and accountability. The organisation also awards a quality mark that signals credibility to the public and to state agencies.
