Wezesha Company Limited By Guarantee is an African-diaspora-led development organisation founded in 2010. The name "Wezesha" - Swahili for "empower" - reflects its core mission: to support, promote and empower African women and children who are, or are at risk of being, affected by conflict, violence and poverty. By working hand-in-hand with local groups and stakeholders, Wezesha raises awareness and strives to end sexual and gender-based violence and the cycle of deprivation that many communities face.

Operating through partnerships in two pilot countries - the Democratic Republic of Congo and Kenya - the organisation delivers programmes that combine advocacy, capacity-building and community-based interventions. Based in Dublin, Wezesha draws on the expertise of the diaspora to mobilise resources, foster collaboration and create lasting change for some of the most vulnerable populations across Africa.
