Newtown Medical Centre Limited is a fully‑service primary‑care practice that has been caring for the Castletroy and Annacotty communities for more than three decades. Originating in Dr Magnier’s home on the Dublin Road in 1993, the centre moved to its modern Newtown premises in 2011 and expanded to a second site in early 2024 to meet the growing needs of the surrounding area.

The practice boasts a multidisciplinary team of seven doctors, three nurses, a phlebotomist and six administrative staff, enabling it to offer a comprehensive range of services under one roof. In addition to routine appointments and repeat prescriptions, Newtown Medical Centre provides specialist care such as antenatal services, childhood and seasonal vaccinations, sexual‑health screening, female health procedures (including Mirena coil and Implanon insertion), male health checks, travel health—including yellow‑fever vaccination—minor surgical procedures, dermoscopy, cryosurgery, medical aesthetics, joint injections, nasal cautery, chronic disease management and medical education for future GPs.

With on‑site parking, disability access, baby‑changing facilities and an out‑of‑hours service via Shannondoc, the centre is well‑equipped to support individuals and families throughout the region, fostering a healthier, more resilient community.
