COOLMINE THERAPEUTIC COMMUNITY

Coolmine Therapeutic Community is a specialist drug- and alcohol-treatment centre that guides clients on a "voyage of recovery". By offering quality community, day-and residential programmes built around a self-directed approach, Coolmine creates a supportive environment where peers and staff act as facilitators of change, with abstinence and a sustainable way forward as the ultimate goal.

The organisation provides a full spectrum of services - from short-term detox at Ashleigh House to longer-term residential care at Coolmine Lodge and community-based support hubs such as the Cork City North Hub. Outcomes reflect the impact: 72 % of retained participants remain free from illicit drug use 24 months after intake, 85 % of graduates stay drug-free after the same period, and 62 % stay engaged with the service six months on.

Coolmine's ethos is inclusive: it believes every person, including the most vulnerable members of Irish society, should have the chance to overcome addiction and lead a fulfilled, productive life. Celebrating 50 years of service, the community continues to grow through peer-led programmes, dedicated key workers and a network of partners committed to lasting recovery.
