Dogs in Distress Company Limited By Guarantee is a volunteer-run Irish charity that has been rescuing, caring for and rehoming dogs since 2001. Every dog rescued from local pounds, abandoned homes or distressing situations is placed in a loving foster home - never a kennel - where it receives a full health check, medical treatment and the time it needs to recover before a permanent family can be found.

The organisation offers a clear, step-by-step pathway for supporters: adoption applications are opened once a dog is ready for a forever home; individuals can become foster carers, providing a safe indoor environment while the charity supplies food, veterinary support and guidance; and donors can contribute directly to the costs of food, shelter and medical care, with 100 % of donations going to the dogs. Additional programmes include a Dogs Training Centre, Nutrition Centre and Health Centre, all aimed at giving each rescued dog the best chance of a happy, healthy life.
