COMHCHOISTE NÁISIÚNTA NA GCOLÁISTÍ SAMHRAIDH CUIDEACHTA FAOI THEORAINN RÁTHAÍOCHTA

Comhchoiste Náisiúnta na gColáistí Samhraidh (C.O.N.C.O.S.) is a national federation that brings together 47 Irish‑language summer colleges across the four provinces, both within the Gaeltachtaí and in other parts of the country. Acting as a trusted resource for young people, their parents and teachers, CONCOS promotes immersive, residential programmes where students live, learn and thrive in an Irish‑speaking environment.

The organisation’s core services include a wide range of summer‑college courses, extra‑holiday (EPV) programmes, Gaeltacht family stays, Garda‑led safety investigations, foster‑care placements and specialised learning periods in the Gaeltacht. All colleges are approved by the Department of Education and Science and the Department of Culture, Heritage and Gaeltacht Affairs, and must comply with CONCOS’s constitution and Code of Practice.

With enthusiastic, experienced staff committed to modern teaching methods, each college acts in loco parentis, offering fully supervised timetables that blend language instruction with cultural activities. By fostering fluency, confidence and a deep appreciation of Irish heritage, CONCOS equips the next generation with the linguistic and personal skills to enrich both Ireland and Europe.
