ACTION IRELAND TRUST COMPANY LIMITED BY GUARANTEE

Action Ireland Trust is a charitable organisation based in Malahide, Co. Dublin, dedicated to empowering communities in developing countries through skills-exchange programmes. Each year the Trust organises four missions to Lesotho, mobilising more than a hundred volunteers and students to deliver projects that span education, healthcare, information technology, planning and development, construction, agriculture, sport and recreation.

The Trust's work includes constructing new classrooms, science and IT facilities, and early-childhood development centres in partnership with UNICEF; renovating hospitals and extending high schools; providing clean water and sanitation through well-drilling and toilet installations; and supporting agricultural initiatives such as planting potatoes, vegetables and over a thousand fruit trees. A flagship mapping project, undertaken with Fingal County Council and Portmarnock Community School, has produced the most detailed map of Lesotho, laying the groundwork for improved national planning.

Since its inception in 2006, Action Ireland Trust has engaged over 1,400 volunteers in projects across Lesotho and the Eastern Cape, fostering sustainable development and creating lasting opportunities for the communities it serves.
