DUBLIN SOCIETY OF MODEL AND EXPERIMENTAL ENGINEERS COMPANY LIMITED BY GUARANTEE

The Dublin Society of Model and Experimental Engineers (DSMEE) is a volunteer-run organisation dedicated to preserving and promoting the model engineering hobby. Based in Dublin, the Society offers a supportive community for enthusiasts of all ages, providing advice, encouragement and access to specialised workshop facilities where members design, build and maintain miniature locomotives and other engineering projects.

A key feature of DSMEE's offering is its operational railway in Marlay Park, which traditionally provides free summer train rides for children and runs a weekly service maintained entirely by its members. The Society also invests in sustainable infrastructure, having recently installed a solar-panel array on its workshop roof to generate renewable energy for its tools and locomotives while feeding surplus power back to the national grid. New members are always welcome to join the hands-on work, from rolling-stock construction to track upkeep, and the Society benefits from member contributions, public donations and council grants.
