IRISH ASSOCIATION FOR EMERGENCY MEDICINE

The Irish Association for Emergency Medicine (IAEM) is the recognised expert body for the specialty of emergency medicine in Ireland. Founded in 1989, the charity brings together the doctors who staff the nation's Emergency Departments and works to ensure that patients of all ages receive the highest standards of emergency care.

IAEM's core activities span three pillars: Emergency Care, where it promotes best-practice standards across Irish hospitals; Training & Research, supporting cutting-edge research programmes and delivering high-quality training for emergency clinicians both at home and abroad; and Professional Practice, advocating on behalf of all professionals involved in emergency services. The Association also provides authoritative advice to the public, government and health-service managers on all aspects of hospital-based emergency care, and it maintains active links with the European Society for Emergency Medicine and the International Federation for Emergency Medicine.

Through its charitable work and national membership, IAEM serves the entire Irish health-care community, championing excellence and innovation in emergency medicine throughout the country.
