CLONMACNOIS FAITH HERITAGE TRUST

Clonmacnois Faith Heritage Trust is a newly-established Irish charity dedicated to revitalising the Catholic faith-heritage of the historic monastic site at Clonmacnois, County Offaly. Drawing on the ancient foundations of prayer, monasticism, pilgrimage, craft and education, the Trust works to provide land, buildings and practical support for existing activities while fostering new initiatives that offer spiritual consolation and community cohesion, especially for young people.

The Trust's programme includes a rich calendar of liturgical and devotional events - from the annual Pattern Mass and Ecumenical Day of Prayer to the Youth 2000 Summer Prayer Festival, weekly Masses, all-night vigils, sacred-music workshops and school retreats at the Cluain Chiarain Prayer Centre. It also organises pilgrim walks, private retreats, funerals, weddings and a proposed summer school on the Irish saints. By nurturing a year-round presence of clergy and volunteers, the Trust aims to renew monastic life at Clonmacnois and provide a living centre of Christian prayer that counters contemporary social ills. The charity is registered in Dublin and serves the wider Offaly community and pilgrims from across Ireland.
