Company Description
Plurabelle Paddlers is Ireland's first breast-cancer dragon-boat club, founded in 2010 by Fiona Tiernan. Based in Grand Canal Dock, Dublin, the charity offers a welcoming, fitness-focused environment for women who have been diagnosed with breast cancer and are at least three months post-treatment. By introducing members to dragon boating-a low-impact, upper-body workout that originated in China-the club helps participants rebuild strength, confidence and community spirit.
The club runs regular "Come and Try" sessions throughout the year, open to paddlers of all fitness levels, none of whom need prior experience in the sport. These sessions provide a supportive introduction to the team-based activity, encouraging regular exercise and social connection. As a registered charity, Plurabelle Paddlers also collaborates with organisations such as Breast Cancer Ireland and the HSE Health Promotion Unit to promote health and wellbeing among survivors across the country.
