WATERFORD ACADEMY OF MUSIC & ARTS LIMITED

Waterford Academy of Music & Arts (WAMA) is a privately-run, non-state-funded arts school that has been bringing the joy of music, visual art and performance to students of all ages since 2004. Based in Waterford City, the academy offers a modern, purpose-built complex that includes a 160-seat theatre, art gallery, recording studio, three dance studios, dedicated drum and costume facilities and fifteen classrooms, all secured by CCTV and a welcoming lobby.

WAMA's curriculum spans a wide range of disciplines: a Stage School delivering dance and drama leading to an end-of-year show at the Theatre Royal; instrumental tuition covering guitar, piano, drums, strings, harp, voice and more; and art classes in painting, drawing, fabric, print and clay. The academy also runs performance groups such as a rock band, drumming ensemble, ukulele orchestra and choir, alongside production courses in songwriting, music technology and theory. Seasonal camps provide a taste of the full programme, while the Live Room Theatre and Arts Complex are available for hire to clubs, societies and external performers, creating a vibrant hub for the local creative community.
