The Irish Green Building Council (IGBC) is a not-for-profit organisation dedicated to accelerating Ireland's transition to a carbon-neutral, circular built environment. Based in Dublin, the Council works with developers, architects, engineers, public-sector bodies and the wider construction community to embed sustainability at every stage of a building's life-cycle.

IGBC delivers a suite of practical resources and programmes, including the Vacant-to-Vibrant Building Alliance, a Home User Guide Template for new-build occupants, and the Business Energy Upgrade Toolkit to help commercial owners cut energy costs. Its flagship initiatives such as Ireland's Environmental Product Declaration Platform, the national certification for sustainable new homes and the CO₂ Performance Ladder provide clear, measurable pathways to greener construction. The Council also publishes case-studies on biodiversity-led design, a roadmap for a circular Ireland, and a Life-Cycle GWP Hub to support low-carbon decision-making.

Beyond tools, IGBC runs a vibrant calendar of events and training - from Lunch & Learn sessions on circularity and net-zero to Green Public Procurement courses and the annual Build Green Now conference. By fostering knowledge-sharing communities of practice, the Council helps industry professionals turn ambitious sustainability goals into everyday reality.
