ÁISEANNA TACAÍOCHTA CUIDEACHTA FAOI THEORAINN RÁTHAÍOCHTA

Áiseanna Tacaíochta Cuideachta Faoi Theorainn Ráthaíochta (ÁT) is Ireland's pioneering non-profit organisation that facilitates Direct Payments for people with disabilities. By placing control of funding directly in the hands of its members - whom it calls Leaders - ÁT enables individuals to design and manage the support that best meets their own needs, breaking the traditional reliance on service providers and fostering genuine independence.

The charity's core service is the administration of Direct Payments, a personalised funding model that gives people with disabilities greater choice, flexibility and responsibility over their care. Through this approach ÁT not only provides financial mechanisms but also promotes cultural and structural change, advocating for a more inclusive society where dignity, freedom and active citizenship are the norm. Since its launch as a pilot project in 2010, the organisation has grown to support over twenty-five Leaders and continues to champion the rights of the 600,000 Irish citizens living with disability.
