KILKENNY SOCIETY FOR THE PREVENTION OF CRUELTY TO ANIMALS COMPANY LIMITED BY GUARANTEE

Kilkenny Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (Kilkenny SPCA) is a charitable organisation founded in 1882 with the aim of improving the welfare of all animals, both domestic and wild. Based in Kilkenny and one of 17 affiliated societies of the Irish Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, the SPCA relies entirely on voluntary support and donations to carry out its work across the county.

The charity provides a wide range of services, including investigations of reported cruelty and liaison with the Gardai, emergency relief for animals involved in accidents, and shelter for distressed pets, wildlife and birds. It also runs a subsidised neutering scheme through vouchers, assists owners in locating lost animals, and helps re-home animals in need. Education and community outreach are central to its mission, and the annual Kilkenny SPCA calendar showcases local artistic talent while raising funds for these vital programmes. Volunteers and supporters are welcomed to join the effort to protect and care for Ireland's animal companions.
