Cork Green Energy Limited is the operator of a state‑of‑the‑art Combined Heat and Power (CHP) plant sited in Clondrohid, Co. Cork. Built in 2019 and commissioned in January 2020, the facility generates both electricity and heat in a single, highly efficient process, delivering a greener alternative to conventional power generation.

The plant runs on biomass – a carbon‑neutral fuel, because the trees harvested for combustion are replanted, absorbing the same amount of CO₂ released. This enables Cork Green Energy to produce 1.2 megawatts of green electricity each hour, which is fed directly into the national grid, while simultaneously supplying useful heat.
