CONNEMARA MARBLE INDUSTRIES LIMITED

Connemara Marble Industries Limited is a family-run enterprise that has been celebrating the heritage of Ireland's oldest indigenous industry for over half a century. Based in Moycullen, County Galway, the company owns and operates two marble quarries in the heart of Connemara - an area affectionately known as "Joyce country".

The business not only extracts the famed Connemara marble, a stone estimated to be six hundred million years old and renowned for its distinctive green hues, but also transforms it in-house. At the Connemara Marble Visitor Centre, skilled craftsmen cut, polish and set the stone into a wide range of products, from architectural slabs to bespoke jewellery. During the summer season, visitors can join guided tours of the marble jewellery factory, gaining insight into the geology, heritage and the meticulous work of silversmiths and artisans who bring the forty shades of green to life.

Through its quarrying, manufacturing and educational visitor experience, Connemara Marble Industries offers both locals and tourists an authentic glimpse of Irish natural beauty and craftsmanship.
