Company Description
Animal Health Ireland (AHI) is the national hub for knowledge, education and coordination of effective control programmes targeting non-regulated livestock diseases. By bringing together research, industry expertise and on-farm guidance, AHI helps farmers, veterinarians and agricultural advisers protect the health of cattle, pigs and poultry across Ireland.
The organisation delivers a suite of specialised programmes, including the Beef HealthCheck, National BVD Eradication, CellCheck Mastitis Control, IBR Eradication, the Irish Johne's Control Programme, Biosecurity and Calf Care initiatives, as well as targeted Parasite-Control advice. For pig producers, AHI runs the National Pig Health Programme and Pig HealthCheck, while the poultry sector benefits from the TASAH-led Poultry Biosecurity Review. All programmes are underpinned by a commitment to sustainable agriculture, recognising that improved animal health is a cornerstone of environmental stewardship.
Through webinars, newsletters and practical resources, AHI equips the Irish livestock community with the tools needed to diagnose, prevent and manage disease, ultimately enhancing productivity, animal welfare and the long-term viability of Ireland's farming sector.
