Company Description
West Clare Mini Marathon Cancer Fund, operating under the West Clare Cancer Centre, is a community-driven charity that supports people living with cancer across West Clare, County Clare. Funded entirely by local donations, volunteers and the popular annual mini-marathon, the organisation provides a lifeline of services that complement the public health system and help patients and their families navigate the challenges of diagnosis and treatment.
The centre's core offering includes a dedicated taxi service that safely transports patients to and from medical appointments, professional counselling for both patients and relatives, and the provision of palliative aids for home use. In partnership with Regina House in Kilrush and Ennistymon Community Hospital, it also runs palliative care units, and it offers complementary therapies designed to calm the mind and heart. These services are delivered with compassion and punctuality, allowing those affected by cancer to focus on recovery rather than logistics.
Each year the West Clare Mini Marathon (now an 8 km run/walk) brings the community together, raising vital funds that keep these services running and reinforcing the message that West Clare stands united in the fight against cancer.
