THE DAUGHTERS OF MARY AND JOSEPH TRUST

The Daughters of Mary and Joseph Trust is an international Catholic congregation with deep roots in Ireland. Founded in Belgium in 1817, the community established a Juniorate and Novitiate in Castlecor, County Longford in 1947 and has since expanded its presence to Kilkenny, Newbridge, Dublin and Meath.

Today the Trust offers a contemplative spiritual presence through retreat work, intercessory prayer and pastoral ministry. Historically the sisters ran the Peace in Christ Retreat House in Kilkenny (1967-2015) and continue to support diocesan retreat centres, providing quiet spaces for reflection and renewal. In addition to retreat ministry, the sisters are active in teaching, nursing, counselling and other pastoral services across a number of Irish dioceses, responding to the needs of local communities.

Guided by a vision that embraces "the interconnectedness of the whole universe" and a commitment to outward-looking mission, the Daughters of Mary and Joseph Trust seeks to foster awareness, advocacy and, where possible, active involvement in the life of the Church and wider society.
