Comeragh Wilderness Academy is a not-for-profit boarding school that uses a wilderness-camp environment to support boys aged 11-15 in achieving behavioural, emotional and spiritual wholeness. Over an average stay of 20 months, small groups of students live together, learning personal and social skills while tackling academic work in a setting that blends outdoor adventure with structured routine.

The programme is built on the proven Wilderness Road Therapeutic Camping model, which focuses on habit formation through clear cues, supportive routines and rewarding outcomes. Academic teaching is flexible yet structured, allowing each pupil to discover a learning style that works for them, while the boarding environment provides constant guidance, accountability and opportunities for real-world practice of new behaviours.

Comeragh Wilderness Academy is fully compliant with the Education Welfare Act 2000, with all pupils registered through Tusla's Alternative Education Assessment & Registration Service (AEARS), ensuring legal registration and independent oversight. Financial assistance schemes are available, so families can access the programme regardless of their means.
