LIMERICK COMMUNITY EDUCATION NETWORK COMPANY LIMITED BY GUARANTEE

The Limerick Community Education Network (LCEN) is a city-wide partnership that brings together 15 community-education providers to champion adult learning "for the community within the community". Representing around 3,000 adult learners across Limerick City, LCEN offers a collaborative forum where members can share resources, good practice and quality-assurance support, helping to avoid duplication and raise the profile of community education.

Key activities include the development and promotion of Learning Neighbourhoods - locally-led hubs that deliver a diverse range of informal and formal learning opportunities - and the coordination of city-wide events such as the AONTAS Adult Learner's Festival, Culture Night and the Limerick Lifelong Learning Festival. LCEN also produces research on the social value of community education, advocates with local, regional and national bodies, and provides a platform for tutors, partners and learners to shape its strategic direction.

Through its strategic plan (2022-2025) and ongoing projects, LCEN works to ensure that all adults, especially those facing social or economic exclusion, have access to high-quality, affordable learning opportunities right in their own neighbourhoods.
