THE IRISH SOCIETY FOR THE PREVENTION OF CRUELTY TO ANIMALS

The Irish Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ISPCA), now operating as the National SPCA, is Ireland's leading animal-welfare charity. Its core mission is to prevent cruelty, promote responsible ownership and relieve suffering for animals throughout the country. By uniting the ISPCA and DSPCA, the organisation offers a single, powerful voice for change, working to protect more animals and create a kinder Ireland.

The National SPCA delivers a three-pronged service model. Through prevention, it educates the public on responsible pet care and champions animal-welfare best practice. Its protection team investigates reports of abuse, rescues vulnerable animals and runs a vibrant adoption programme that matches dogs, cats, rabbits, horses and other species with loving homes. Finally, the prosecution arm collaborates with law-enforcement agencies, using its inspectorate to bring offenders to justice under Irish animal-welfare legislation.

Operating nationwide, the charity's work is supported by a network of centres and a dedicated team of inspectors who respond to cruelty reports, provide care for animals in need and champion lasting legislative change.
