Company Description
Mayo North East Leader Partnership Company is a community-focused partnership delivering a suite of social-inclusion, rural-development and employment programmes across North-East Mayo and parts of West Mayo, including the municipal districts of Ballina and Mayo West, Swinford, Belderrig/Ballycastle, Westport, Newport, Louisburgh, Achill and Ballycroy.
The partnership administers the Social Inclusion and Community Activation Programme (SICAP) - a 2024-2028 initiative aimed at combating poverty and promoting equality - and the LEADER Rural Development Programme (2023-2027) which supports local enterprises and community projects. Its specialist services include the Erris Workability "Inclusive Pathways to Employment" scheme for people with medical conditions or disabilities, the Defective Concrete Block (DCB) community facilitation grant, the Empowering Communities project, the Rural Social Scheme, and the Back to Work Enterprise Allowance for aspiring self-employed individuals. In addition, the Mayo Roscommon Local Area Employment Service (MRLAES) provides financial assistance and support to job-seekers, while a range of free training courses - from interview techniques to Irish language classes - help build skills and confidence.
Through these programmes, Mayo North East Leader Partnership Company works directly with individuals, community groups and local organisations to foster leadership, sustain employment and create resilient, inclusive rural communities.
